About the area
Our office is located in Wilmington, Vermont which is very close to Mount Snow ski area in the Deerfield Valley. At an elevation of 1600 feet, we are in the Green Mountain National Forest which means there is a lot of forest wilderness land nearby. The forest offers excellent hiking, mountain biking and snowmobiling opportunities. When you look at a map of southern Vermont you will notice a large lake which is the 12-mile-long Lake Whitingham a.k.a. the Harriman Reservoir. This has a natural, undeveloped shoreline open to the public for boating, swimming, fishing and icefishing.
We think that we have an ideal combination of natural resources for people fine restaurants, art and craft galleries and non-mall shopping opportunities. It's true - one must drive at least 60 miles to reach the nearest shopping mall in either Springfield, Massachusetts or Albany, New York. However, being in far southern Vermont we are close to many metropolitan areas (Boston is 120 miles away and NYC is 200 miles) and accessible to airports in Albany (58 miles) and Springfield (85 miles).
We love it here - in spite of our long, cold winters. That aspect makes summer all the more valuable. We are happy to share our information about the area and hope that you will find the following links of use or fun! Just because there's a weather link here, it doesn't mean that you can't call us to chat anyway - talking about the weather is a time-honored Vermont tradition.
